Dry Canyon of the Pas de Soucy
Descend along a dry canyon abandoned by the course of the water for thousands of years, with the help of ropes, sheltered from the great summer heat!
The objective will be to give you the technical keys in order to make you as autonomous as possible in the practice of rope descent!
4 abseils of about ten meters follow each other! There's nothing like it to get to grips with verticality in an exceptional and intimate setting!
We meet on the car park of Saint Préjet, in Les Vignes in the Gorges du Tarn.
Equipped with helmet and harness, you will leave for a 30 minutes walk in the direction of the dry canyon of Pas de Soucy. Before entering the canyon you will have a nice view of the rocky chaos below on the river.
A first abseiling of 10 m, very vertical and very practical, allows you to learn the right position in the harness. The whole canyon is cool and shaded in a calm and wild environment, very practical for getting off the beaten track and on hot summer days.
The second descent is less vertical but more vertiginous since you will descend a gully of about twenty meters: guaranteed sensations!
The third and fourth obstacles are easier and are less than 10 m long, they will take you close to the river in the heart of the Pas de Soucy.
After having enjoyed this grandiose landscape, all that remains is to go back up the gentle slope to the road.
